Intention leads to manifestation
Healing the mind and exploring the many opportunities you can take to support your mental health is a first clear step to emotional well-being.
When it comes to healing the mind, there are a wealth of possibilities to explore. Some therapies can easily be practiced on your own, while others may require a licensed therapist, counselor or certified coach. Whichever one you choose, all share one common goal - to harness the healing power of your mind. One way to harness or refocus your mind is in controlled breathing or Diaphragmatic Breathing.
Diaphragmatic Breathing helps you to learn how to breathe slowly, deeply, from your abdomen. This technique is particularly useful for ones that suffer from panic attacks.
Another technique is Mindfulness or Intentional Focus. In contrast to meditation, where one is asked to empty out their mind, Mindfulness can lead you to Manifestation.
“It is not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see…”
The idea behind mindfulness is a focus on giving full attention to the present moment. The idea is to focus on and become aware of the ‘now’ while acknowledging and accepting the feelings and thoughts in your body and mind.
Being mindfully aware allows you to reconnect with sights, sounds, taste and smells as you feel, without judgment - yourself. Being mindful encourages a calm awareness so you can learn to manage negative thoughts and the effect they have on you. It is said that being aware, being mindful can help one manage depression and anxiety as well as other mental health concerns.
Diaphragmatic breathing technique
Lie flat on your back with your knees bent and your head on a pillow. Place a hand on your upper chest and the other just below your rib cage. Slowly breathe in through your nose so your stomach moves out against your lower hand. Now tighten your stomach muscles as you exhale through pursed lips. Throughout your inhalation and exhalation, the hand on your chest should remain as still as possible.
Lastly, being intentional can also work well with Ecotherapy. Ecotherapy is a way to harness the healing power of your mind outdoors. Connecting with nature through gardening, walking, other aerobatic exercises like cycling outdoors, combined with a well balanced diet can help to support mild depression, anger, even low self-esteem.
Ecotherapy also offers a way to connect with nature, other people all while improving your mood and overall well-being.
